I thought I would finally take the plunge and start one of these things; it seems that it’s what all the cool kids are doing these days. So I guess the proper protocol would be to say a little bit about myself eh? Here goes.
Professionally: I work at a small company that goes by the name of Totally Games, the company run by Lawrence Holland that was responsible for the X-Wing vs. Tie-Fighter games, as a Designer. I was categorized as a Level Designer until fairly recently, but after a general re-jiggering of the titles at the company, it was decided that the two Level Designers currently employed did far more than just traditional level design, so they generalized our title to coincide with our generalized work. Anyway, I started working there just about 2 years ago right out of college and I have two titles under my belt during this time, add in the title I completed during my internship with Glu Mobile and that brings my grand total of shipped games up to three.
Personally: I’m married and we have a son together who just turned 3 last week, I graduated from the Art Institute of California: San Francisco with a BS and I love hockey. I’m a big Guitar Hero and Rock Band geek, I’m so far off the deep end that I’m a moderator over at ScoreHero.com, the largest rhythm game community on the net. As far as other games go, I’ll play just about anything (and I do), but I wouldn’t call myself a fan of simulation games (sorry Mr. Wright). Living in Marin County, it’s kinda hard to not appreciate the atmosphere, so we have recently begun going on hikes. We started yesterday with what had to be the biggest freakin’ hill in the area. We got near the top and our son turned around, looked out over the vista, looked down at his mom and dad slowly trudging up towards him, then proclaimed “See, it’s not so bad.” I looked at him and replied back that it was because he went all Yoda on me and had me carry him up most of the way.
He also had me carry him most of the way down.
